Bad Timing

 Victim stated that an SMS text message had been sent prior to an alleged rape, but as the reception was poor it hadn’t ‘gone’ until the morning after.  We determined that the specific handset stored times for both the user pressing send and the successful transmission over the network.  The lack of any delay contradicted their evidence.  The defendant was acquitted.
